CHOCOLATE - Bags, Horses & Cake!!!
Released On 8th Apr 2017
Have you joined our ""Easter Egg"" hunt yet ? - it's very easy - thanks to my eggcellent clues.
The prize is cracking!! An egguisite Chocolate suede Mathilde.
The Mathilde is a signature Owen Barry bag that ingeniously turns from shoulder bag into back pack with just a quick pull of the straps, one of our very best sellers and given away here in the most versatile of colours - Rich Chocolate Brown.
So, just find the three not so concealed eggs hidden around our website - tell us where you spied them and enter giving your name and email - someone must win it so why not you? - what have you got to lose?
Bet on a Chocolate Grand National Winner
Hopefully another rich chocolate coloured winner this weekend will be my sweepstake horse in the Grand National.
In exchange for a £1 stake I drew number 40 from the hat and duly searched the list of runners with great anticipation, expecting the next Red Rum to be mine – there was no horse number 40 !!
Much to everyone else’s amusement I had just paid a quid for a horse that didn’t even exist, but,
I was promised, they would “find” a 40th horse before the off!!!
Well thanks for that –I was already spending my winnings and now you are telling me I have to wait to see who they can round up roaming the paddocks of Aintree to make up the numbers – hmmm….
I think Jackie could tell I was not best impressed, so to prevent a tantrum she quickly agreed that for a further investment of another £1 - !!!, I could have one of the other 3 strips left in the hat.
Well, this next horse looks absolutely beautiful – (in my eyes anyway) number 15 – Regal Encore the most glorious Rich Chocolate Brown coat, a 9-year-old, an obvious winner – so come 5.15pm I shall be sat with a cuppa tea, ready to cheer home my favourite.
That said, of course, for the sake of a quid, I would of course, much prefer the only female jockey to come home victorious - Katie Walsh on Wonderful Charm ( oh yes, Wonderful Charm, is Chocolate Brown as well) – GO GIRL.
Homemade Chocolate Cake and Tea
Anyway – what shall I spend my winnings on ? – I already know that –
Chocolate cake at the opening of the Mandeville Tree Rooms, - my best school friend Jennie is opening the doors of her new enterprise tomorrow –
The Mandeville tea rooms, in Keinton Mandeville Village Hall -
every 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoon throughout the summer Jennie and her team will be serving homemade cakes, cream teas, and drinks etc. all served on vintage china.
If there is one thing Jen can do, it is make a fantastic cake and cuppa –
Honestly, you have to try them, in truth my first choice wouldn’t necessarily be her chocolate cake, it will be the coffee cake (SCRUMB) or one of her massive scones with jam and cream, or perhaps both, but as there is a chocolate theme going for me this weekend it would be rude not to !
Even if you aren’t local, a Sunday ride out along the A303, 3 miles from the Podimore roundabout you will find the best tea and cakes this side of the Pecos.
Have a great weekend and don’t forget that Chocolate Suede Mathilde could be yours…….
