Delivery

Regular deliveries:

We display a table of delivery charges on the information area list for each product.

However, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or require any information regarding deliveries.

We especially want to hear from you if you feel that there’s a shipment en route and you’re concerned about the transit time or have any information regarding addresses, etc.

General Information 

We use a variety of trusted couriers to deliver our goods. The courier we use depends upon the delivery address, i.e. UK Mainland, Highlands & Islands, Europe & Rest of the World. The courier will contact you at the point of pick-up and provide tracking details, which will enable you to monitor and adjust the delivery journey.

Delivery will be made to the address specified by you during the order process on the website.

Insurance and signatories

We insure each purchase for the time it is in transit until it is delivered to your specified delivery address. A signature is required for any goods delivered, at this point, responsibility for your purchased goods passes to you.

All our deliveries require a signature upon the receipt. However, ours is NOT a named delivery service. Therefore, anyone at the designated delivery address may sign for your delivery. Please ensure an appropriate person is available to sign on the delivery day. If no one is at the address when delivery is attempted, the courier will retain the goods and a notification email will be sent; in some regions, a postcard may be left. You will have the option to re-arrange delivery or collect your order from the local depot. If this has not been undertaken within approx. five days the courier will attempt to redeliver. If this is still unsuccessful, the goods will be returned to Owen Barry (OB).

Ordinarily, we only make deliveries to the order delivery address with an appropriate signature. If you instruct us or our nominated courier to leave a delivery unattended at your address or at a nominated neighbour, OB expressly disclaims all liability which may arise by virtue of the delivery being lost, damaged or left unattended for some time. This includes but is not limited to theft, tampering, contamination and the result of weather damage.

Weather Conditions

Adverse weather conditions or other events outside of our reasonable control may result in an occasional late or non-delivery. If that is the case, we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule your delivery. In any event, our liability to you will be limited to the prices of the goods not delivered and the delivery cost. Split deliveries

In an instance where all products are not available to ship at once, OB is entitled to supply your purchases in several drops. We will endeavour to liaise with you to ensure any inconvenience is kept to a minimum, and we will only charge one lot of postage (if applicable) per order.

When your order is despatched, we will send you an automated despatch email, which will include a tracking number for your parcel. 

Despatch Times and Additional Costs

UK Mainland delivery: Where our website offers FREE P&P, this offer applies to a checkout basket value more than £50.01 with a delivery address within the UK mainland only.

Our standard carriage is £7 for orders up to a value of £50.01 and free of charge after that. This applies to the UK  mainland only.

This service usually takes approx—48 hours (two working days) from the day of despatch. 

Highlands & Islands and Northern Ireland delivery:  Our standard charge is £9 up to a value of £50.01 and is free of charge thereafter.

This service can typically take up to 3-5 (working) days from the day of despatch.

Our UK Express tracked delivery option is an additional £12 and should be delivered within 24 hours (one working day) from despatch. This service is only offered to the UK mainland, for orders placed before 10.30 am on a weekday. If you require this service, please contact us directly, ideally by telephone.

If you require a timed delivery (i.e. Saturday or the Next day – before 9 am), this could be influenced by the delivery postal code. The charge for this will be quoted especially; please contact us directly so we can handle your request/delivery personally.

In the Channel Islands, Europe, the USA & Canada and the Rest of the World, we have variable costs.

These can be weight and region-dependent. Final accurate costs will be displayed at checkout but as guidelines:

Standard Channel Island costs are:

  • Up to £50 spend is £17; for a spend over £50, the delivery cost is £11.
  • Shipments to the Channel Islands will not be charged VAT. However, CI residents shipping products to mainland UK addresses will be charged VAT.

Europe and the Rest of the World will have variable costs, these can be weight and region-dependent. The final accurate costs will be displayed at checkout but as guidelines our standard costs are:

  • EU £28.00
  • USA £27.00 or Free Carriage over $50.00
  • Canada £27.00
  • Australasia £38

Delivery times for international shipments will vary according to the destination.

For shipments outside of the United Kingdom your total price will be adjusted at checkout and will not include VAT.

However, you may have to pay import duties and taxes according to local regulations.

All additional charges are the recipient’s responsibility. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, Owen Barry has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information.

Please Note: International shipments may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities. Owen Barry cannot guarantee that products sold through this website are appropriate for all global requirements. This includes but is not limited to material origins, content and labelling. We will not be liable for any breach by you, the importer, of such laws.

We will endeavour to despatch all stock orders within two to three working days.

Exceptions

The exceptions to this are:-

  • Beanbags and bean-filled interior products can take up to 2 weeks to despatch. These will only be supplied bean-filled to UK mainland addresses.
  • International and remote UK addresses, beanbags and bean-filled interior products will be supplied unfilled. Stockinette liner will always be supplied where appropriate. Please contact us if you need help or quotations for a fully delivered service.
  • Customised orders which are made to order, then the Owen Barry team will liaise with you regarding your customised order and its timeline for production.
  • Christmas and possibly offer times, when there is an increased demand.
  • Back Orders/Split deliveries:  In an instance where all products are not available to ship at once OB is entitled to supply your purchases in several drops. We will endeavour to liaise with you to ensure any inconvenience is kept to a minimum and we will only charge one lot of postage per order (if applicable).

If you have any special requirements, regarding deadlines, gifts, delivery addresses it is always best to contact us directly prior to order, but at very least make clear mention of your requirements in writing on the notes section of the order form.
